This will be made into a pillow for my great niece, Katelyn. It was a quick easy piece to do. The Butterfly is from 80 plus Kind Thoughts by Kooler Designs and the lettering is from an old book called Homespun Hospitality by Rayna Designs.

Owl

I started this in 2008 and dug it out of my UFO to finish off. It was a difficult stitch as there was so much detail and backstitching, but I loved doing it. This will go to my dad's cousin, Marlene as she asked for it when she saw it on my face book page.

This was a series of improvisions. I don't know how to the do specialty stitches so I just did the bands in cross stitch (my interpretation of them). I improvised a little in a couple other spots too. This piece will go to a child at Love Quilts who has religious as theme of his quilt.

This piece almost caused me to quit stitching altogether! So much frogging so much improvising. But it finally got done. Fortunately the other 3 crosses do not have the half stitching that this one had and 2 of them don't have any backstitching so I probably will do them eventually.

This was a love-hate piece. I loved doing it but hated the balger blending filament and there was a lot of it. It doesn't even show up on the scan. Other than that it was a fun piece and fun to see come alive.

My niece and her husband adopted a little girl on Mon. I did this piece for Mady. It was a very simple piece, to be made into a pillow. To protect Mady and her family I covered her last name and county she was adopted in. The heart is by Leisure Arts and the letting Barbara Stoop.

I did this for my great nephew. He decided on this piece after selecting several cars and trucks, he decided he liked this one. He'll have it for his 5th birthday later this year. It was a fun, easy stitch.

My sister-in-law asked me to do 3 small pieces with the child's name on it and she would make them into Bible Covers. So we started with Katelyn's to see how we like them. I like it. It's simple because the material pattern is busy so the simpler the better. I just used the lettering from a larger sampler.

This was a fun piece to do. Although pattern said it was for beginner, I would say it's more for the intermediate stitcher as there is so much detail and back stitching to it. I loved doing it though.

For being so small this was a challenge. But more then half of it was done today so I expect the 2nd tree (same pattern) will go better. This will go to my sister.
