A friend & neighbour recently lost her horse to old age. This is meant as a tribute for a love that was in her life for as long as Cara's was.

Originally as a kit from Creative Collection, inc - I was missing the floss included and relied on the colour floss conversion chart available here to remedy that for me.

Jane Austin's opening line in Pride & Prejudice.

From the Issue No.86 of New Stitches magazine (2000)

My stitched frame is off - though I know where it is, I can't find the stitches that made it so as all the counting up to that point matches the chart. No one in particular for this in mind. Though I think it would make a good wedding gift. ;)

A friend put out a request out to have items donated for the silent auction her charity Linked Through Love is putting on. This is my submission. There is plenty of symbolism in this piece beyond the warm/love & home the rustic appeal gives. It also promotes nutritional eating & the red winged black bird stands for "life changes". All things LTL stands for.
Pattern is Found in the September 1994 magazine For the love of Cross Stitch (a Leisure Arts distribution).

From the 2010 September Cross Stitcher Magazine. This is for my neighbour who is a huge fan of all things Grand Prix. I seen it and immediately thought of her (though it's taken a few years to get around to stitching it).

A complimentary pattern from Brooke's Books website. I altered it slightly and used 2 colours instead of just one solid floss stencilling. Not sure what I'm going to finish this as.

This year I'm aiming to be as inexpensive as possible with my stitch selections - so I'm finding plenty of freebies, tackle WIPs and start the bookmarked patterns in my collection of magazines.

This cute songster snowman is a free chart from Plum Pudding Needle Art website.

This is the 1st in the Animal Advent series of ornaments I will be doing this year for myself. There's not too many colours on the list for the 10 patterns currently being offered on Brooke's website so I hope to have them done by the end of this month.

Elf

I do a lot of stitching at work & a customer cheekily asked where his piece was at. This was my Christmas answer.

A Celtic Cross from the book "Celtic Cross Stitch: over 40..."

I switched up the colours to an 800 series to give it a more earthy tone instead of the cold stone colours it called for.
Unsure on how I want to finish this.

A bookmark as per my "sneaky return" with my Lost Wife library book.
As the characters often wound up eating molded bread I changed out the white to a moss green.

This pattern is found in the book titled "Sabbat Entertaining".

This bottle whale can be found in September 2013's Cross Stitcher Magazine Issue 270.

I would like to make it into a key board but haven't yet found the materials to do so.

Another bookmark for my 'sneaky library return'. I hope the bookmarks are actually bringing whimsy to the next in line reader.

From the book "Celtic Cross Stitch: over 40...." By Anne Orr and Leslie Clarke.

The wrong colour key was given for this project so it gives the finished product a more cold stone look (using 600's grey tones) instead of the warmer look of that illustrated in the actual book (which probably used the 800's brown/taupe tones). When I go to stitch the larger cross later on I shall use the latter for key codes.

I like reading and we have only a small library so many of our books need to come upon request from other small town libraries. This bookmark was made to accompany a certain book and upon returning the book - I also included this gift, tucked inside the pages for the next reader to use.
