The blocks of the finished piece did not match up to the pattern. I followed the pattern.
I used glow in the dark floss for the moon. Because, moons naturally should glow.

I like to sneak bookmarks into my returned library books. The excitement of finding little treasures when you are the next reader thrills me.

So I stitched this little girl. She is from an old Cross Stitch Country Crafts magazine Nov/Dec 1990. The pattern was of paper dolls (and named Cousin Maggie & Friends paper dolls).. I did this one for the book Price of Stones.

Made for Shirley - an older community member (she turned 82 this year). The blue with the roses reminded me of China tea cups. The sassiness of this cat at the phrasing at the bottom is clearly very "Shirley". She was very excited and claimed she has the perfect spot for it on her chesterfield where everyone will be able to see it.

I'm going to continue with the flirty leg ornaments for Barry's Christmas gifts. There were 6 in the set so I think I'm good for a while yet.

A couple years ago I gifted some chickens to a customer - then she turned out to be allergic to birds. She'd known this before of course but thought the allergy excluded chickens. Needless to say, those birds went away. These shouldn't rouse her allergies ;).

A customer requested I make something for him to gift his daughter with to represent her company. This pattern was to closely match her business card.
I melded 2 Stoney Creek patterns together. One called White Tail from Book #505: Nature's Beauty. (The jumping stag and the silhouetted deer along the bottom.)
The 2nd was from Book # 297: Great Outdoors. (The cabin & the mountains)
Then added the company name using an alphabet found in the Crazy For Cross Stitch April '16 edition. Ta-Da!

Baby sampler for my cousin & his wife. Instead of putting in the words "Tools of the Trade" which are part of the original pattern, I subbed in the baby's name. Hopefully this will be something that can be relevant for all stages of his life.

I stitched this for a very outdoorsy customer of mine. His family loves to be out in nature. This if from the 2015 Winter edition of the Stoney Creek Magazine. I put in their family name in place of what was a biblical scripture above the cabin. He assures me that it was a nice surprise gift & that he now has it hanging on the wall.

Bookmark for a friend who is needing a little creative pick me up. She'd requested something a little more harsh to quell her mood, but she has little eyes who are learning to read so I thought this punctuation free phrasing would be a little less.....adult. ;)

Stitched for an acquaintance who has been having some issues of late. This is meant to perk him up & bring some geeky balance to his home.

It is a freebie pattern from the blog Pixels and Pins. It is the Elven Aravel; a land coach from the video game Dragon Age. (This one in particular is from DA-Inquisition.) The words in English translate to "This is my home, a place of peace".

A freebie pattern found online. It is the Mr.DNA strand that inspired attention to the visitors in the original Jurassic Park science lab about what DNA really is & how they made it work.

I altered the SCC pattern from the 2015 Autumn magazine (leaving out the 2 bottom owls and the words) to be a personalized birth piece for my nephew Zavier. I glued it on to a wood plaque and added some cording.
