Hi I need some advice. Found a chart, that I want to do, but its meant to be done on Zweigart 18 count cotton Anne
afghan fabric. I have never used this sort of fabric before, and it is a very large product, can anyone advice me how
I can determine how much AIDA fabric I should use instead. Any help will be gratefully received

The leaflets that designers create usually show their designs used on several fabrics -- You can choose whatever type/color/count fabric you want. The designer only shows suggestions; however they don't always give you needed information to convert the design to other fabrics. The size fabric you will need depends on the stitch count of the design. In the left column of this site you will find a "Fabric Size Calculator." Use this to determine the size fabric you will need for the project.
Some stitchers will say that if a design has a lot of 1/4 stitches, it is hard to use certain fabrics. I find that this is not a problem for me. It appears that many stitchers are afraid to experiment on their own; they would not dare make any changes in the floss color or fabric color for the design. Remember, the designer is only giving you their idea - it is not the only way a design can be stitched! Go to top
