Hi Is anyone interested in 'blackwork' cross stitch using either the 'double running stitch' or back stitch. If so, can you give me some basic techniques as to how to figure out the 'pathway' to follow when stitching a pattern. Or a manual/website (I already know of 'needlework-tips-and-techniques') or book that will help me learn.
Thanks

My best source for you would be the Blackwork Embroidery Archives. They have how to, patterns, and detailed photos of finished products to start playing with. Good luck . Go to top

The Blackwork Archives is a great resource, but my favorite site for teaching/learning blackwork is Carol Leather's site:
    http://www.x-calibredesigns.co.uk/

She has instructions and free patterns to download where she shows step-by-step the pathways to take. She also has some beautiful designs for sale as well, and a newsletter worth signing up for.
