Hello everyone. I am starting a new pattern which requires stitching over one thread on Jobelan. I have not done this type of stitching before. Does anyone have any suggestions before I get started? Thank you.

Use a size 28 needle and don't pull your floss to hard when making your stitches. I've done a few projects over 1 on 25 count lugana and I am very very pleased with the result. Take your time. I make my stitches in the usual way; bottom left to top right and then bottom right to top left. If there are a number of stitches across using the same colour, I first go in the one direction and then make the return trip. Once in a while when you are making your stitch on a horizontial thread, the floss may slip behind. Just fish it out and don't pull as thight. Good luck! Also, use about an 18" lenth of floss. Anything longer knots easily. Go to top

Thank you for your suggestion of using smaller needle and light tension. I will endeavor to do this. Now, I need to buy a bigger magnifyer.....or get a seeing eye dog that cross stitches. :) Go to top
