Counted cross stitch for beginners

I mistakenly bought a counted cross stitch pattern and I have no idea what to do with it! How do I get the pattern onto the fabric? Thank you!

    The best advice I can give a beginner it buy or borrow the Leisure Arts Leaflet for beginner's cross stitch. It is full of good advice on how to stitch and how to centre your design on the fabric. After you are comfortable with aida type fabrics, it has helpful topics as to stitching on linen/evenweaves, using waste canvas and many finishing details. It also comes with a number of designs that begin with easy and guild you to a bit more complex designs. If you buy this chart/instruction book you need never buy another. The Victoria Sampler website, www.victoriasamplerdesigns.com has great instructions for beginners too plus the actual stitches being worked. Go to top
