Would like to know where to buy kits for padded jar lids for cross-stitch projects or how to make them. Thanks for your help.

Go to where they sell canning supplies eg. a hardware store or grocery store. Buy the rings and lids there. You can do your stitching, mount it on a cardboard circle that has been covered with quilt batting. Cut your finished piece in the circle larger than the cardboard circle then about a quarter of an inch do a running stitch with light coloured quilting thread or even white dental floss. Now place this over the quilt batting and pull to gather your circle. Anchor your threads and then you can glue this to your jar lid. Years ago you could buy prefinished circle of aida that had been sewn to a circle of fabric that had lace around the edge. I also cut a small piece of acid free double sided tape and place it on the quilt batting before I put my stitched piece on top. This helps keep your stitched piece centred while you gather. Go to top
