I have been cross stitching for quite sometime now. I purchase a lot of dimensions pictures, what I am seeing is there never enough floss. So I found a conversion chart hoping to solve my problem ( people do make mistakes) what I found out is, a lot of the floss don't match. I had to wait 15 days for replacement thread, which I think was ridiculous

I’ve been cross stitching kits for a while too. My solution is to not use the floss from the kit companies but to convert to DMC. This way, if I run out of DMC, I can go buy another skein and keep on going with the project. Go to top

Thank you for this post. I like many of the dimensions kits but generally stay away from them due to the floss issue. Is there a thread conversion chart available? I was looking through the one kit I have and did not see one, they have the floss they provide numbered but nothing to convert it to. Go to top

I just discovered this website, and the conversion chart for Dimensions patterns is fabulous! I just now ran out of thread for my cross-stitch, which was a pre-packed kit, and didn't have the DMC thread number. I looked up the Dimensions thread number and searched for it on this website, and it gave me the DMC thread number, which was what I needed for my pattern. Yeah! It was only one thread number off, which was easy enough to figure out. I constantly have this problem, but this website is fabulous, and I recommend using the thread conversion chart for your Dimensions patterns. Good luck and God Bless! Go to top

I have done many kits and never run out of floss. In fact I have much left over. I stitch /////////////, followed by \\\\\\\\\\\\\. Do you complete each stitch as you go, rather than row by row. If so, you use quite a bit extra floss...which could be why you run out. I am not judging,,,just saying. We each stitch our own way. It is the finished piece that is important. Go to top
