Gold Thread Brand Conversions

In the past, I have always done cross stitch kits that came with the pattern and floss. I am now about to start a project that did not come with floss, just pattern only. I have this box full of floss that somebody gave me long ago. I went through it to see if I had any of the colors before I went to the store to buy the ones I needed. Problem is, the numbers don't match the pattern. The pattern calls for DMC numbers and this floss is Gold Thread Brand. I used the conversion chart on here that went from Bucilla to DMC, but it only worked for just a handful of the colors. Now I have 16 more colors that I don't know their DMC conversion or color name. I have searched online, but can't seem to find anything on this Gold Thread Brand. Does anybody know what this is or how I can convert these colors?

If you are near a shop that sells floss why not just take those threads into the store and match them to the DMC floss. If you have the old actual threads colour chart, you could do your matching at home. Go to top

I have just been given about 300 Gold Thread Brand threads and have looked online for past 2 hours to get a conversion chart and nothing!!
If the company sell these surely there has to be a colour chart somewhere???
There is no way I will take them all down to a DMC stockist, they would probably throw me out the shop :(
Has anyone found a conversion chat for this make yet? Go to top

I have never heard of Gold Brand embroidery floss. The best I can suggest is to pull up the DMC color cards online from home and try to match it yourself with what you have.

Otherwise, I would just use them for monochrome designs, or do a floss toss and create the color combinations for yourself using the Gold Brand floss.
Sorry can't be more helpful - good luck! Go to top
