I have several alphabet pattern books for cross stitching. I would like to cross stitch my first initial using some of the patterns. I'm trying to decide if I should use plastic canvas. I would like them to be detachable so you could switch them around with what you are wearing. Do all of you Wonderful stitchers have a suggestion for me?

Thank you in advance.

Pamn here. Perforated paper backed with craft felt or that foam sheet stuff will work. Rather than plastic canvas, I would try "perforated plastic". It is sort of like plastic perforated paper--the holes are round, not square like plastic canvas. I've seen it in clear (kind of transluscent) and white. It is usually 14 count. You'll probably want to back it with craft felt as well. Use those sew-on pin backs you can get in the bead accessory section of craft stores. You could also try vinyl weave, which is like vinyl aida cloth--check to see if it has enough "body" and stiffness for you once stitched by stitching a sample.
