Question about x stitch chart

I'm starting a cross stitch pattern that I want to personalize on the top and the bottom. When I count the squares to find the center of the chart, do I count the personalizing too? Also, many squares down do I go on the bottom and how many squares do I go up on the top for the personalizing?

    Yes, include the personalising in finding the centre of the chart. I don't know how many squares you need to go down and up because i don't know what you're personalising the pattern with, but you can use this website http://tinyurl.com/hqomg9j to plan out your personalisation and count the squares when you have a pattern for it.
