What sort of glue?

Hello everyone,

I wonder if I could get some input for a few projects that I want to start on and finish, but they're all related to GLUE!

My first question is what sort of glue is acceptable for a finished project? I found a cute ornament pattern that says to glue the finished project onto a piece of felt, but it didn't say what sort of glue. I would like to choose something that is doesn't yellow the fabric and can be washed if needed. Is generic fabric glue alright to use?

Second, a friend of mine wants to cross stitch a pattern for a glass votive. Again, I don't know what kind of glue is alright to use, she burns actual candles and not the electric imitation candles.

Thank you so much.

I have used either regular Elmer's White Glue or Aileen's Tacky Glue for years (both available at Michaels, JoAnn's or Hobby Lobby) and never had any problem.

Regarding the votive -- it's going to depend on how hot it gets. I'm not sure I'd recommend glueing directly to the candle holder (which is glass I presume). Maybe making a sleeve that could be removed when it gets too hot might be a better answer. Go to top
