What to do with my finished cross stitch

hi all

I am working on a cross stitch for my mum violet profusion by DMC and can't think of what to do with it when it is finished as I don't want to just put it in a frame. I wanted to turn it into something to go in her greenhouse, the finished size is 33x22 cm. Also will I be able to do something to ensure it withstands the weather if it goes in her greenhouse? All ideas very much gratefully received!

Kim

I hate to say it but in a greenhouse, you may just have to frame it under glass with spacers to keep the glass of the work. If the greenhouse is large enough or maybe a shelf have an easel set up to display the work. Go to top

    Hi!
You can get a nice serving tray and put it under the glass or plexiglass. You can actually for the trays just for crossstitching pics to place under them.
Also does your mom's greenhouse have a nice corner area for a table with two chairs, that she can have a friend to join her for tea. What you can do is get a glass top that can be lifted up and place and tack in the piece that you have done underneath it. Make it up like a little atrium of some kind. I hope these ideas help. I would be interested knowing how you made out with your piece. Karin Go to top

May I jump in here? I like the idea so a nook in the greenhouse, if space is available. Another idea would be to make a cushion for a chair and put a clear plastic cover over the fabric and stitched piece when assembling it. This will protect it from dirt and moisture. Go to top

I would be very hesitant. Since a greenhouse is loaded with moisture, you would need to make very sure that the piece is sealed. If any moisture gets in it, it may very well damage the piece. Go to top
