I have been away from cross stitch for a long time. I think 1981 was my last year. I'm looking for some tips on finding the center of the fabric (pattern not stamped on the fabric). Fold the fabric in fours and crease then pick the center? Thanking in advance.

    Cynthia,

That's exactly how I find the center of my fabric but you could also do a running stitch from corner to corner, you know making an X, and where they cross would be the center. I've always had good luck using the folding fabric method so I use that one almost all the time. Hope that helps. Enjoy your day and happy stitching..Judy :) Go to top

The easiest way to find and mark the center is to fold it into fourths and tie a thread through that center . I also like to tie a thread on the bottom or left/right at the edge of where the design ends. I usually start stitching at the bottom and move upwards, but that's just my preference. Go to top
