    Nikki,
I've stitched a few towels many years ago and the towel had the fabric to stitch on in the center. How did you make your pattern and does it have this type of fabric in it? If not, you might consider using waste canvas.

NIkki, I stitched a butterfly directly onto a velour hand towel some years ago using waste canvas. I find that this works better than purchasing the towels with the cross stitch inserts. My second choice would be to cross-stitch the design on cross-stitch fabric and then attach it to the towel. For an added finish, you could use grosgrain ribbon around the perimeter of the fabric, or just turn it under and stitch.
