I'm going to tackle this pattern but was wondering, since it is so large, maybe I could use 40 count linen instead of 32. If I do, should I use one strand of thread or 2? Has anyone done this pattern? Thanks

Wow- large project!! Yes, you can definitely use 40 ct. I would use 1 strand- 2 strands is good on 36 and bigger linen, but would be too bulky on 40 ct. I use exclusively 36 and 40ct, and haven't ever found a reason that I couldn't use these cts. 40ct w/ one strand will have a more open/ delicate look than 36 with 2 strands- just test a little design out on a scrap of 40 to see if you like this look.
