dimension floss compared to dmc floss

What do I do if dmc floss does not match up with Dimension floss

    I've stitched many Dimensions and Bucilla kits and haven't had this problem with any of the conversions. However, I have gotten emails stating the color names don't match and let the individuals know that they need to go by the code numbers only and not by name.

      Dimension has a list of "conversion codes from their colors to DMS. You can write to Dimension and they will send you the list. I have a copy, but don't know how up to date it is. Go to top

      When ever I buy a kit, be it Dimensions, Anchor, or others, I first convert all the floss to DMC, (there never is enough floss in kts). If the converted floss is not an exact match I check the color against the DMC color chart, where I usually always find the exact match, if all else fails, I head to my local AC Moore and physically match the floss.

    This site has a Dimensions to DMC chart in their "floss chart conversions" list. Have you looked at it? Go to top

    I called Dimensions today (1-888-588-2700) and got a conversion chart for Dimensions to DMC - they are now part of Simplicity. I haven't tried matching their colors with the numbers they suggest, but hopefully this will help you. Go to top

    I don't know if anyone is still reading this thread, but last night and tonight I ran out of a couple colors in a Dimensions kits, and used the conversion chart on this site. The colors on the two charts don't match exactly - not even very well - but in both cases the Dimension color was in the same area as the DMC floss that it was supposed to match. One color, for instance, was Dimensions 13087, which the conversion chart says is DMC 3688. I didn't think they matched at all, but I found that DMC 3354 was a good match, and it was just a few bobbins away in my organizer box. Go to top
