Large projects/ alternatives to cotton aida

I have two issues that I need some help with. First, I will be starting a large project ( 37 inches by 26 inches). Does anyone have a helpful hint on how to manage a piece this large? Also, Aida in the size I need is expensive. I can buy a tablecloth size for 1/2 the cost, but it is 100% polyester. Should this be a problem?

    Christine, sometimes I post on the 123 message board (123stitch.com) and ask questions and someone has always been able to help. Also you can ask if anyone has the size, count and color fabric you're looking for as sometimes someone does and will sell it at a reasonable price. What size, color and count aida are you looking for? As for the table cloth, sorry but I don't know how to answer that because I don't see how you can stitch on a table cloth unless you're going to use waste canvas.
