Snow Cover Cardinal SIMPLICITY Cross-stitch kit (Maynard Reece 1986)
I used to stitch all the time many years ago, and even purchased kits to do in my retirement. I'm there now, and have pulled out a kit I started on but never got very far. In looking at the threads provided, I now know why I gave up, but am determined to finish this project...but I need some help! The kit simply states that "the floss is 100% cotton." The colors I can't distinguish are: 6168 (Dk. Salmon Red), 6030 (Med. Bright Salmon Red), 6107 (Dk. Brick Red), 6171 (Med. Brick Orange), 6174 (Med. Lt. Brick Orange), and 6175 (Lt. Brick Orange). I have tried using the conversion chart, but to no avail. Does anyone recognize the series of codes correlated with the colors...and do you know who the manufacturer of this particular floss might be? Thanks in advance...

I Googled the company, and it appears they went through quite a court battle in 1983...I haven't found any indication they are still in business. Go to top

I thought it might have been that brand too. The 6168 seems to match, but the rest don't. Go to top

There once was a company called Creative Circle. They did house parties for various types of needlework. I believe their floss numbers were quite like these. Also there is/was a company called Robison-Anton that made various threads including 6 ply floss. Their numbers were sort of in the same sequence Go to top
