Varigated Floss

I have acquired several skeins of varigated DMC floss. Not sure exactly what I will stitch but would appreciated a little guidance. Should I do one "X" at a time or do the whole row and then stitch backwards as usual?

Thanks

Nancy, when I work with variegated floss I always do a complete "X" before moving on.

Enjoy your day and happy stitching, Judy :) Go to top

There is a pattern called the rose window, which represents the rose windown in York Minster I used the variated threads and it worked really well. good luck Go to top

The variegated colors have worked fine for me by doing an entire row when stitching short rows. I think I've done 8-10 stitches in a row going across, rather than stitch-by-stitch, and it's worked fine. Go to top

I just started using the variegated floss colors and love them. I have tried it both ways and both work fine. It really depends on the look you are trying to achieve. If you like single color X's - then do one X at a time. If you like the look of multi-color X's, then do several stitches in a row. Go to top
