Cross Stitch burn out

Every couple of months I seem to go thru a minor cross stitch burn out phase. The big project I am working on is about 90% complete. I have several small projects lined up to do next. Yet I can't get interested in doing of them at this point. Meanwhile I will admit- my photo drawer is getting organized. I can't be the only one who has brun outs am I?

    Beth,
I seem to go through this from time to time when I've stitched a large piece. I give myself a break for a few days. After that, I start smaller projects so I don't overwhelm myself again. Have you thought about putting down the piece you are working for a few days and work on your photos? Go to top

I go through the same thing every so often and I
am sure others do too. Right now I have gone back to a project that was hanging around and feel confident I will finish it soon. However I still have another in the wings. In the mean time I have done a few smaller projects. dont feel bad, it happens to all us creative people!!

I completely understand your feelings of burn out. I have that problem myself from time to time. Lately, finishing big projects seems to be really hard. I wish you luck though with finishing your latest big project.:) Go to top

I've had this problem in the past with different hobbies. I do projects by rotation now (cross-stitch, quilting, crochet and knitting). Helps me a lot as I would get to that last 10% and then never finish. It also helps you get past those difficult parts (I can work on anything for a 5 or 10 hour rotation). Go to top

I usually get burned out after finishing big projects. I'll either take a break and read a few books or work on something small. Go to top
