Construction
1.		Trim your completed stitching to within 1/2" (1.3 cm) of the edge of the stitches. There's no need to follow the exact outline of the stitches at this time.
2.		Cut a piece of felt the same size as the perforated paper. Choose a felt color that matches the color of the perforated paper.
3.		Cut a 6" (15 cm) length of ribbon. On the back of your project, use a small amount of white glue to secure one end of the ribbon to the center at the top of the stitching, not the top of the paper. Glue the other end of the ribbon on top of the first end. NOTE: Since these pictures were taken, I have found that it's easier to trim the top of the perforated paper as close as possible to the stitching before performing this step to avoid having to cut around the ribbon afterwards.
4.		Cover the back of the perforated paper with a light coat of white glue. Take the piece of felt cut in Step 2 and center onto the back of your project. In order to ensure that the felt adheres to the perforated paper, put a heavy book or other heavy object on the back and leave set until dry. Note that some felt is sold with an adhesive backing which may not hold as well over time.
5.		After the felt has dried thoroughly, use a small pair of scissors to trim the excess perforated paper as close as possible to your stitches. You want to avoid cutting a hole in half that contains stitches. Alternately, you can trim to any other shape that works for the pattern like a square, circle, or oval.
