I am attempting to cross stitch an Afghan Rug for my first Gran child. Have bought a Lady Elizabeth Afghan by Charles Craft 14 count and the pattern I have is Woodland Babies by Stoney Creek. 2 threads (white) seems to disappear into the thread of the rug. So before I proceed should I increase the thread count and any suggestion of how many threads I should use. I hope I have supplied enough information for someone to be able to help me, as I have only ever cross stitched small kits

Leonie

ps. only have 5 months so I have no time to waste

Leonie, I know this is a little late but I wanted to say I had the same problem with my first afghan and discovered that if I turned it 1/4, the stitches stayed in place. My second grandchilds afghan was much easier. There is a "top" to the afghan fabric. I spent two years on the first afghan because of frustrations. Both were done with Stoney Creek patterns. Go to top
