I know this is a stupid question, but I have a pattern that calls for 2 strands throughout. On the length requirements for the thread, if it says I need 12 meters of a particular color, does that mean total 2 stranded or total 6 strand skeins. Assuming that one 8 meter skein (6 strands ) = 8 meters total; and one 8 meter skein (2 stranded) = 24 meters. Would I need one skein or two? Is anyone else confused?

not a stupid question! Actually a very good question. Never really thought about that. My assumption is that if calls for using two strands the quoted amount of floss would be the amount you need. Therefore, if the patter calls for 8 meters total that would allow for using two strands at a time. Go to top
