J&P Coats conversion

I have some old floss that belonged to my mother years ago. I would like to convert to DMC, and have used the conversion chart on this site and it comes up "unknown". If anyone knows the DMC conversion number for J & P Coats numbers 257, 254, 90A, 236, 55, 71, 183, or if you know of a website that will give this information, I would greatly appreciate it.

Dell,
My suggestion would be to buy a DMC color card since you could match the floss from your mother to the colors in the card. I have this card myself and it has come in handy for me.

Try "findstitch.com" then look under "resources" then "conversion charts". They've been helpful for me! Happy stitching!!

There is a website of older J&P Coates threads to DMC. Looking at the site, it didn't have specific conversions for DMC for any thread numbers but 55 which converted to 7045 and 183 which converted to 52.

Elizabeth...thank you. I have been searching for the conversion chart for hours. I have a thread J & P Coats#260 that is not on the list...anyone have a clue how to convert that to DMC?
