Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced x-stitch software for designing your own x-stitch designs? Either to download via the web or to purchase. Are there any 'freebies' out there that any of you know about. Please help me out if you can
Thanks so much

Stacie, there are many software programs out there that can be used to design cross-stitch charts, but I have not found one that satisfies my creativity! I have experimented with many of them. I always start and complete my designs with graph paper and pencil. The software ones don't do it for me. Go to top

I've worked a little bit the Stitch -- it's a free program found here:

There are some things it doesn't do, such as partial stitches, but for a free program it's not too bad.

    Good luck! Go to top

I have used the PC stitch that sells for about $40 dollars for years and loved it - I convert all my black and white charts over to color for my own personal use and it is great - had the opportunity to move up to PC stitch Pro not too long ago - took a little while to get used to it but it is well worth the investment - so many more symbols to use and larger range of floss, etc - translating a black and white graph to color allows you to see what a chart is going to look like - it also gives you free reign to try to experiment in your own designs - I have made wedding samplers and birth samplers for friends for years using my PC stitch program. Good luck on your hunt. Go to top
