Bengals Banner Help

Please help me! I have been cross stitching for about a year now, mostly simple patterns for my family and friends. It was all practice for the Bengals Banner I bought for my husband as a birthday gift. It was totally out of my league at the time! A little explanation of the project - it is to be stitched on 22 count Aida fabric, finished stitch size is 8x10, all full stitches with 50 different colors!! That is where my question comes in; the pattern has a lot of color variation. For example: one stitch of this color green, one stitch of that color green, another stitch of dark green and one more stitch of Kelly green - how do I tie on and off one stitch of green thread at a time over and over again?

You do not stitch and cut and start over. First I would suggest gridding your fabric. This would put your fabric into 10 x 10 squares that would match the pattern. Stitch in one 10X10 area at a time.

Start with your first floss (Color A). Make your first stitch. Carry the floss over to the next square that uses that color. Then start with Color B. Stitch next to Color A and make your stitch.

This is a little simplistic. There are several sites you can GOOGLE or YouTube for a better explanation.

Take your time. It will be good. Go to top
