I have a counted cross stitch pattern of a snowman on Aida 18 count, when stitched he is 4inches tall. I would like the finished snowman to be 8inches but still want him on Aia 18 count, can anyone please tell me how I can enlarge the original pattern please.
Thanks

    Mary,
That's a tough one. The difference between 18 and 16 count Aida is about 10% but you are trying to increase it by 50%. There is no easy way to increase the stitches in some simple way without getting a chunky result. You would need to manually recreate the pattern and add more stitches. I use a program called PCStitch to do that by "underlying" the grid with an image of the original pattern and then manually adding backstitches to the outline and then filling in the stitches. I hope this helps.
