Finishing stitches

Hullo All, I have finished stitching Lady with a Hat, Romance cross stitch collection by Lanarte and am up to stitching the "outline" stitches on the netting of the veil that falls across the lady's forehead. It's such an intergral part of the pattern, I don't want to spoil the whole thing. Any ideas of how to stitch this? length of stitches etc, most of the stitching is on an angle. Thanks for your help

I usually use a single thickness of floss and do no more than 2-3 squares per stitch. I find this gives more of a fluid look and a bit of texture. I must say that I make Santa ornaments and not a large picture. When doing the outline stitch, if you do it square by square, you can lose the look of the lines.

I am sure you have figured out all of this as your post is months old, so I hope you are happy with what you did! Go to top
