Fraying Edges of Fabric

Hello: It's been a while and I decided to pick up stitching again and was wondering what I could do so that the edges of the fabric don't fray while I'm stitching. I've heard tape around the edges and if so what kind of tape, and if that isn't a good idea would greatly appreciate and welcome any suggestions. Thanks. Hope to hear from someone soon.

    Christine,
For larger projects, I use my sewing machine to zig zag the edges and for smaller projects I've used Fray Check. See following link:

There is a type of liquid substance in a bottle I don't remember what it's called its in th crafting section you just open the bottle and squeeze it around the edges of the material.it dries and keeps the edges from fraying Go to top

Hi Christine, I use white masking tape for the edges of the fabric. It works really well. Hope it helps. Regards. Go to top
