Lining 25ct evenweave?

Hi All,
I'm new to using 25ct evenweave, and have never done a 1x1 pattern... But I have one, and I can't wait to start it! (Pattern is full coverage, DMC floss, HAED design) However, I keep reading about "disappearing stitches" when you stitch all the //////s and then you stitch the \\\\\\s. This is my preferred method of stitching, and I'm hoping I don't have to change it... My question is, should I consider putting a lining on the back of my evenweave to better brace my stitches? Would lining be sufficient to maintain my current stitching habits? Or will my evenweave hold up just fine without it? So many questions!

    Jackie,
When doing “1 over 1” on an HAED pattern, you are probably doing it on 25-count fabric, yes? The ‘disappearing stitches’ going “1 over 1” is usually caused by pulling your thread too tight when stitching the “/“ leg of your X which causes the upper right corner of the floss to move left and causes this: “I”.
Ease up on pulling the floss too tight and you’ll be able to do your ////// Stitching. :)
