Personalizing CCS

I would like to make a CCS picture and personalize it with lettering above the picture and a name under it so, how may squares do you go up from top of picture and how many do you go down from bottom?

Too many variables. How large is the fabric you are using? What size is the finished picture? What size/type font do you want to use? Once you decide on the font; use graph paper to plan the lettering. Count the number of stitches (including spaces). Divide by two. Start in the middle and work outward. As far as how many squares between the picture and lettering -- you need to consider the actual pattern and the size of the font. Most of my personalized finishes have been six to ten squares.
