I will be going to London next month and I will
be staying at Kensington Close Hotel. I would love to be able to buy some cross stitch kits or
patterns while I'm there? Could anyone suggest names os cross stitch shops near Kengsington Close Hotel I'd really appreciate the information.
Thank you.

My sis & BIL were in England and in London in June. Sis reports it was hard to find needlework shops. She did find Duttons for Buttons but that was in the north. You should contact Brenda, who has a gallery here at Cyberstitchers. She lives in London. Sis bought me a sampler kit at Duttons of a sampler in the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge.

Hello Hope,
I'm afraid Maria is right. There are not many needlework shops in London. You may be able to get some at the large department stores like Selfridges or Debenhams.I get all mine from the internet.Enjoy your stay in London, and take care,
Brenda.

Hope, here's an idea that you might like. When I know I'm going to be staying at a hotel/motel for a day or two or more; I order needlework stuff and have it delivered to me at the motel/hotel. I'm in Canada and when sis went to England, I ordered something from a British firm and had it delivered to her son's house. The package arrived before her plane landed! I don't know if I can "plug" a company but www.sewandso.co.uk was great to work with. Buy a UK stitching mag in your area if you can and check out the ads, order and have it delivered to your hotel.

I have no idea wether it is very far from your hotel, but on Regent Street you can find Liberty, they have a very nice section needlecrafts. Apart from that, the whole building is worth a visit, and so are the floors with scarfs, shawls, handbags and arts & craft furniture. And enjoy your visit, London is a great town.
