Beads/knots

Hello, I need help please? I conquered french knots a year ago and then yesterday tried again for two hours. I am so disgusted. I could use beads (if needs must) but they call for DMC beads and I cannot find a conversion to MHBs. Thanks. Melissa

    Hi Melissa,
Have you tried Colonial knots instead of French knots? They tend to be a little more uniform and sit up on the fabric nicely. There's a good, clear diagram at this site: http://webstitch.designwest.com/needle_stitch.html (scroll down to "isolated and detached...")
Just pay close attention to the position of the thread in relation to the needle.
    Good luck!

    Hello Melissa

Try this web site with stitch animations: -

I think the trick is to have the wrapped thread at the needles point before you push the needle back through the fabric. I also use a finger just to keep it in place as I draw the needle through. Give it another try, it really is worth it when you succeed!
