I have a pattern that I want to put on a t-shirt but I don't know if I should wash my pattern first or after I put it on the t-shirt. I've heard about waste canvas, but I'm a little scared to use it.I do know about fusible web,I did pick up something called tearmender which says it does work on cross stitch. I'm so lost. HELP!!!!

Don't be afraid of waste canvas! It is your friend! LA has a Beginner's Cross Stitch book with great directions for this product's use. If you have a LNS go to them and they can give you assistance. I've used waste canvas on towels, tee shirts and sweat shirts without any trouble.

How else would you put a pattern on clothing other than waste canvas? I don't know any other way.
