Are the numbers the same for both DMC tapestry yarn and DMC embroidery floss? IF not is there a conversion chart?

    Susanne,
As far as I can tell from searches online, the numbers are different for the tapestry wool and embroidery floss. I am not aware of a conversion chart. However, DMC does sell a Tapestry Wool Color Card when it comes back in stock here: https://www.dmc.com/us/dmc-tapestry-wool-color-card-9000087.html

DMC has tapestry wool "Laine Colbert" article 486. The numbers have 4 digits and start with a 7 (generally).
Indeed they are not the same as the DMC cotton embroidery floss article 117.
Conversion chart can be found here: www.mystitchworld.com/imagesDMC/Dmc-Floss-Laine-Colbert-Conversion.jpg
Colour card can be found here: www.permin.dk/uk/dmc-yarn/laine-colbert-wool-yarn-item-no-486.html
Note that Laine Colbert is 10 metres per skein so 2 metres more than common embroidery floss skeins.
    Happy stitching!
