Thank-you for Dimensions to DMC conversion chart

I stumbled across your site today and am very grateful for the generous spirit which led you to start this site. I have a Dimensions cross-stich pattern which I started nearly 20 years ago then put aside due to work and helping aging family. I restarted it again a couple of months ago, and realized I had insufficient thread after having made significant counting errors in my stitching which I decided to remove.

Being a measure once, count twice person, I made a trip to a local craft store for 3 colors, and spent much time eyeballing them to locate the correct DMC shades. It's a week later, and I realized I needed some others. I had hoped to order them online but I couldn't match the numbers regardless of what thread brand I sought. I finally learned that Dimensions had their own colors. Who knew?

Thank heavens for your informative website and color conversion charts. It took some time to find matches for all the many shades (did I mention that this pattern may have been too detailed for my limited skill level?), but I've documented them and can carry on. I'm determined to finish this time around. Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you! You are a goddess!

I'm glad you could pick up the stitched project again and that you found the conversions helpful. I've used them many times myself and I appreciate you letting me know. I hope your day goes well.

I also just restarted working on a project from 2001! Like you, I needed additional floss for a couple of colors and founds this site for the conversion from Dimensions to DMC. The chart here is phenomenal. The trouble I am running into is actually obtaining the color I need without buying a bulk amount! I wish someone had a DMC supply available in small quantities on-line!

Best of luck with your project! Take your time and enjoy the process...there really isn't huge differences in counted cross stitch between beginners and advanced stitchers! Go to top

So grateful for all the work you must have put into this chart. Discovered I had multiples of same color! Happy not to waste what I had .
      Many thanks! Go to top
