Hoop Stains

Hi!
I am a long time cross stitcher, and generally stitch using a plastic embroidery hoop. I always encounter the same problem - hoop stains around the fabric. Does anyone know how to avoid them, and, most importantly, how to remove them without damaging the work or fabric? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

To avoid the problem in the first place I always wrap both parts of the hoop in bias binding, and hold it in place with Microporous tape. This ensures the fabric stays clean and if the binding becomes dirty is easily replaced. Go to top

I never have that problem. Are you always using the same hoop? Maybe that is the problem. Always a good idea to take the hoop off the fabric after each stitching session. Go to top

In addition to all the other replies, don't smoke and don't eat or drink while stitching and wash your paws frequently! Go to top
