I have a project that is 7.7” x 9.1”, for Aida 14. It is set as portrait. I would like it to be in landscape with a finished dimension of 16x20. Any suggestions as to how to change it? I contacted someone on Etsy, and she said she could do it, I’ve sent the pdf, but haven’t heard back from her.

Since you want the pattern enlarged, it takes a bit more work because extra squares and backstitch lines have to be added. The method I use involves a program called PCStitch, which lets you place an image underneath the grid as a guide.

To do this, you copy your original pattern as an image, then create a new pattern in PCStitch with the larger stitch count you need. Since you’re doubling the size (or close to it), you would simply double the number of squares in each direction. After that, you place the original pattern image under the new grid and fill in each square using the correct symbols.

I have a video that shows the process here:

You can download a trial version of PCStitch to try it out, but the trial doesn’t allow printing or saving.
