As you can see I did two of these, again on some mystery linen with DMC Floss. Part of the design presented by Fern Ridge Collectibles in the 2011 Just Cross Stitch ornament book. One was finished with running stitch edge and the other with a "running" cross stitch. I used a long OOP designer for "JOY" and "NOEL" Laura J. Conley from Folk Heart Designs.

I purchased a bag of mixed red and white ornaments from the thrift store for my future kitchen-themed Christmas tree. Included were these faceless angels, which I felt needed something special. I now have 3 angels representing some of the work we do out of love for our families at Christmas: Baking, Shopping, and Wrapping. I was tempted to stitch in red, but the fabric count is around 60 and I feared small imperfections would show. (white-on-white is more forgiving!) I used 1 strand over 2 with a fine beading needle.
